  1. On Wednesday, 5th February 2025, the office of the University Librarian received seven (7) books from Professor Timothy Ubelejit Nte of the Department of Political and Administrative Studies of the University of Port Harcourt as follows:

    • Nte, T. U. (2017). African Traditional Institutions: An Illustrative Perspective. Nigeria; Shapea Publishers.
    • Nte, T. U. (2021). Diplomacy and Foreign Policy: The Wheels of International Relations. Nigeria; Shapea Publishers.
    • Nte, T. U. (2023). International Relations: Fundamental Theories and Law of Nation. Nigeria; Scholar Press.
    • Nte, T. U. (2024). The Citizens and State in the Social Contract with Individuals. Second Edition. Nigeria; Sunrise Publishers.
    • Nte, T. U. (2020). International Relations of African States. Nigeria; Sunrise Publishers.
    • Nte, T. U. (2022). Power Tussle and Collective Security: Sources and Responses to International Conflict, Second Edition. Nigeria; and Scholar Press.
  2. The weekly Library Use statistics increased from two thousand, seven hundred and forty-six (2,746) to two thousand, nine hundred and fifty-three (2,953) users, indicating a 7.5% patronage increase.
  3. The Donald E. U. Ekong Library (Central Library) maintained two shifts: 8.00 a.m. – 9.00 p.m. on weekdays and 9.00 a.m.- 5.00 p.m. on Saturdays.
  4. The Knowledge Commons (for undergraduate students) and the Research Commons (for postgraduate students) are accessible to students and researchers who wish to utilize the eresources of the Library. Similarly, the Elsevier training laboratory on the second floor of the Library has internet access to all subscribed databases and is accessible to faculty members.
  5. The Library has acquired MatLab. The MaTrics Laboratory (MatLab) is a proprietary multiparadigm programming language and numeric computing environment that indicates matric manipulating and plotting functions-abc data, implementing algorithms, creating users, and interacting with programmes written in other languages.
  6. The Library has received updated content on the OnePro Database (https://onepetro.org/journals). This database facilitates the provision of information on oil and gas to registered faculty members and researchers.
  7. The Library has received updated content in the SpringerLink Database (https://www.springernature.com/gp). This data helps in the publication of robust and insightful research, supports the development of novel areas of knowledge, and makes information accessible globally.
  8. The Library is receiving updated content on the JSTOR Database (https://www.jstor.org). This database provides registered researchers with informative materials that cut across every discipline, including the sciences, social sciences, arts, education, technology, law, and other research-related disciplines.
