The Readers Services Librarian, Dr. Glory Edet made a presentation on the importance of recreational reading. She urged participants to engage in recreational reading because books are gateways to knowledge.
As part of the day’s event, participants were asked what they loved about the library and there were amazing responses from them. Other activities included karaoke and games sessions.
To call it a day, participants and other heads of units in the library took turns to praise the library management for the initiative. The event enlightened the students and other participants that loving the library is essential for personal growth and development. Developing a love for the library will lead to access into its vast resources and discovering new ways to expand your knowledge and understanding of the world.
